british american tobacco australia - Consumers and trade

Consumers and trade

Our business is about offering adult
consumers high quality brands and helping to
make sure they choose them over those of
our competitors.

British American Tobacco Australia believes that underage people should not consume tobacco products and will continue to work to ensure that our business practices do not undermine efforts to combat underage smoking.

On 1 July 2009 new laws came into force regarding the sale and display of tobacco products in New South Wales. Some aspects of the new laws are effective now, but others will be phased in over the coming years.

When consumers buy smuggled or counterfeit cigarettes, in an attempt to save money, they may be unwittingly helping to fund international organised crime and terrorists.
